The University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) is the only University in Portugal that offers concurrently undergraduate, Master and PhD programs in Public Policy. These courses prepare the next generation of policy-makers to meet the complex policy challenges that face cities, regions, and the world in an increasing number of areas. Recognized for its strength in combining theory and practice in policy-relevant research, ISCTE-IUL is determined to make these programs competitive with the best equivalent programs in the world.
Policy fields are increasingly interconnected, have domestic and international dimensions and involve policy actors from the public, non-profit and private sectors. That is why new ISCTE-IUL programs are interdisciplinary in nature. They involve two prestigious schools (the Business School and the Sociology and Public Policy School). Faculty members are experts from Portugal and abroad, including world renowned social scientists, lawyers and economists, former ministers, popular political commentators and top policy-makers.
