
Dagmar Hedrich is Lead Scientist for harm reduction at the European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) in Lisbon.
Dagmar holds a Master degree in Psychology from Justus Liebig University in Giessen and completed postgraduate training in the treatment of addictions in 1985. Starting her professional career as researcher in a longitudinal research study on heroin use, outpatient treatment and self-recovery, she became member of the drug policy coordination team of the city of Frankfurt, followed by employments at the Council of Europe Pompidou Group and freelance work as international consultant in drug demand reduction and epidemiology for UNODC, UNAIDS and the European Commission. She joined the EMCDDA in 2001, where she works in the public health team.
