Cécile Martel has been working at the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction since 2001 and holds the position of Head of the International Cooperation sector. Before joining the Reitox and International Cooperation unit, as a lawyer, she worked for 5 years in the Drug Policy unit analysing EU drug legislation.
Ms Martel holds a degree in law, specialising in European Affairs. Before joining the EU Institutions, she worked as a lecturer at the European Center of the University of Rennes (France). Her research focused on the EU drug legal and policy framework, as well as on European construction, European legislation and legal instruments.
